Configuration of Instant Messaging

In order to use Instant Messaging properly certain user data have to be available for potential chat partners. As side-effect, this data availability is an important part of the so-called awareness. This means that being an OLAT user you always know, e.g., who is online and how long as well as what that person is working on at the moment. This information can be found in the online user list to be activated on the below left next to your user name.

Online user list

My name is visible to other users: Here you can determine if your User name, First name, and Last name on the online user list should be visible to all other OLAT users. The default setting is «Yes» .

My online time is visible: Here you can determine if you want the others to know how long you are online. The default setting is «No» .

The course I am working on is visible: Here you can determine if you want the others to know which course you are working on at the moment. The default setting is «No» .

Roster

Default status after login: Here you can choose between 6 settings to be activated after logging in the future.

If you want to change your current status you can do this by means of the star symbol on the above right. This will be the status to be activated when logging in the next time.
